The Mosman Montessori Under 3's Program
Mosman Montessori Under 3's is an education program for children between the ages of 0 and 3 years. It is a stimulating environment for toddlers to learn.
The Montessori method is based on scientific observation and has been credited with teaching children of all ages for over 100 years worldwide, and 97 years within Australia. It is known for creating an environment that caters to children's natural independence, and also helps parents to realise their children's full potential.
Children and parents / carers attend between one and two sessions per week, for two hours per session.
The Montessori philosophy
Dr. Maria Montessori was an Italian physician, educator, philosopher and humanitarian. Her life work began in 1907, when she opened her famous "Casa dei Bambini" or "Children’s House". Through her observations and work with children she discovered their astonishing, almost effortless ability to learn.
Maria Montessori’s philosophy is based on scientific observation of the child at various stages of development: infancy, childhood, adolescence and maturity. She devoted herself to developing an understanding of the unborn child to the three year old, after she had already developed the 3-6 and 6-12 year old programs.
